Caribou Patrol breaks outreach record at the 2026 Deep Freeze Fest in Edmonton

Caribou Patrol staff, along with several incredible volunteers, were out in full force at the Deep Freeze Festival in Edmonton on January 17 and 18, 2026. The weekend brought mild weather and an amazing turnout, making it a truly memorable event.

As part of our grant reporting, we track the number of people we engage with at events like this. Saturday, January 17, we set a new one day record, with more than 1,600 people stopping by to chat with us. Over the course of both days, we connected with over 2,600 people - another event record.

One of our favorite moments from the weekend came later, when we received a message from a family who had visited our booth. Their child read the EduKit booklet we gave them and then proudly presented what they learned to their parents. Knowing we helped spark that curiosity and passion is something we truly treasure.
