Making a splash at the Grande Cache 50th

2019 marked the 50th Anniversary of Grande Cache. To celebrate, an entire weekend of festivities was planned for Canada Day Weekend. Over 850 people attended, including previous Grande Cache residents from as far as Nova Scotia and Alabama. Events started late Friday afternoon and carried on until Sunday evening.

Where are they now?

Previous residents of Grande Cache attended this event, including some from as far away as Nova Scotia and Alabama.

Caribou Patrol took full advantage of the crowds during Saturday’s full day of events. Setting up their display at the Grande Cache Arena, Caribou Patrol had the opportunity to speak to 241 people about woodland caribou conservation. Caribou Patrol handed out swag and over 40 Edukits and AWN caribou brochures.

Atih, Caribou Patrol’s life size caribou model, was also onsite for pictures and selfies. He was a hit with kids and adults alike.

Thank you for your continued support

Our crew sold a record number of Caribou Patrol hoodies and other branded items at this event. We'd like to thank the community for continuing to support our work and your help in spreading awareness about our caribou conservation efforts.
